noch 3… warte… 3? oh nein, nur noch 3 tage!

Nicht zu fassen. Muss doch noch soviel im Prayer Room downloaden und außerdem den bookstore leerkaufen und und und. Okay, tief Luft holen, Ruhe bewahren, Zeit ausnutzen. Diese Woche sind Endtimes-teachings. Sehr interessant… teilweise ziemlich heftig: die Bibel ist voller Sachen, die ich nicht weiß. Heute gab’s mal wieder nen unglaublichen Gemeinschafts-Lobpreis-Moment im Prayer Room. Wir haben “Shout unto God with a voice of triumph” gesungen und normalerweise fallen da mal hier und da ein paar “shouts”, aber dann standen immer mehr Leute von ihren Plätzen auf und das ganze entwickelte ein bisschen mehr corporate dynamics als üblich und  dann war -weiß nicht, vielleicht ne knappe Minute lang - nur noch “WHOOAAAAA!, JEESSUUUSS! HAAAALLEEEELUJAAAH” und das wiederholte sich dann noch n paar Mal. Amazing! 300-400 Leute (Susen saß weiter hinten und sagt 450) aus voller Kehle. Wat sollich sagen: Awesome!
Cicadas machen auch ziemlich viel Krach. Squirrels zum Glück nicht, aber davon gibt’s mindestens genauso viele hier:

 

 

 

 

Ja und sonst ist es einfach mal sehr, sehr cool. Nach 2 Wochen eingeweicht werden, fühlt man sich echt super. Unbeschreiblich. Feels like upload and download works pretty smuuf and fast! Heute war einfach mal wieder sweeeeet.
Abgesehen vom Essen - das ist leider auch sweet. Ich will Stulle mit Brot!

Wespen sind doof

Sonntags fünf vor 11 im Gemeindebüro. Klein Antje zieht sich beim reflexartigen Fliegenverscheuchen nen Wespenstich an der Wade zu. Alles halb so schlimm bis Montagmittag: Antje geht in der Stadt ein paar Erledigungen machen und hat danach ein dickes Bein. Antje denkt, nicht weiter schlimm, war ja nur ein Wespenstich, fährt abends nach Hause, joggt ne halbe Stunde mit Schwester und hat am nächsten Morgen ein noch dickeres Bein. Antje kriegt ein bisschen Angst wegen Amerika und geht Dienstagnachmittag zum Arzt, erzählt die ganze Geschichte (außer dem Joggen) und erntet ein zynisches “Tja, Sie hätten am Montag nicht Shoppen gehen sollen. Ruhigstellen, hochlegen, kühlen. Mehr kann man nicht machen. Antibiotika vielleicht.” Dann eröffnet Antje ihre Reisepläne und sieht den guten Herrn Doktor nur noch die Hände übern Kopf zusammenschlagen. Antje kriegt ne Moralpredigt von wegen Thrombosegefahr, ne Heparinspritze für den Flug und ne Anleitung fürs DIY. Antje schlägt die Hände übern Kopf zusammen und schließt: Wespen sind echt doof!

When a blog was born

July 2006 ►

Can anyone remember? No? Well, in fact, this is sort of a special anniversairy this year. In July 2006, when I started this blog I was just taking off to the United States to visit the International House of Prayer - aka IHOP - in Kansas City, Missouri. And this year I’m a “repeater”. Yes, I’m pleased to announce to you *drumroll* that I’m going to visit IHOP KC again

“European Immersion” ► dip deep, soak and steep

“European Immersion 2008″ that’s the name of the program I’m going to take part in. Sounds good, eh! I’m looking forward to getting some passion fueling teaching, to seeing again some nice people I got to know then and meeting a lot of new Jesus-hungry people and above all, I’m looking forward to sitting in the prayer room, talking to my Father, refocussing my life, my mind, my everything on Him, getting refreshed, refueled, recharged in His presence, having an awesome time of worship and devotion and receiving more and more revelation… aaahhh, I can’t stop… I’m soooo looking forward. There’s just nothing like being with Jesus and knowing God!

Why in the world IHOP in the States?

Why not! Okay, okay, it’s a sane question. Why can’t I simply sit in my room at home to do the things mentioned above. First, I would save a lot of money. Secondly, my peeps at church and at home would not complain about me leaving everything behind for 4 weeks ;). However, the answer is easy.
First, I want to go on holiday! But on a “Jesus-holiday”, meaning I don’t want to just hang out on a beach for some weeks to return physically relaxed, recovered and sunburnt (although that’s extremely attractive, I admit). I want to relax, recover and sunbathe my spirit as well, because I believe this is the one thing needed in this world, in this time. Spiritual things are more real, more important, more influential than physical things. That’s hard to grasp because we learned from birth on to walk according to what our senses tell us, to think based on what we can explain with so called sanity and science. That’s good of course. If only we would stop to exclude, negate and deny the spiritual reality. My point is, I need to feed my inner man, and a program like this is a great opportunity.
Secondly, I believe IHOP KC is a place God has exceptionally blessed. A place with people He has anointed to do what they are doing. They have got a great chunk of revelation about some things in the body of Christ which I haven’t found anywhere else in that measure. Of course there are more houses of prayer all over the world. The great advantage of such institutions in the States is simply the size or capacity and structure. Or have you ever heard of a House of Prayer in Germany holding such programs… (Anyway, we’re growing, aren’t we!) Well, I believe, it’s good to get around a bit and have the best teachers, to get the cream of the crop The head of my former music school used to encourage me comparing the learning and training process of an instrumentalist with the training of craftsmen in medieval times. After one or two years of learning from their master in their city they started to cross through the country to learn from masters here and there, develop their skills by getting trained various ways and approaches of manufacturing and to finally find out the best way in order to become the best craftsman. He wasn’t possessive or protective about me as his student at his school. Instead he encouraged me to take workshops and lessons wherever I could, because he wanted me to become an excellent musician. I think that’s a nice analogy to our spiritual learning and training. (Hopefully, you’re getting my point: I’m not supporting people who roam around from one christian camp to the next to get pumped without having roots in a church. Every christian needs to be planted in a local church!)
So IHOP KC… I’m coming

Kinder, wie die Zeit verjeht!

Das ist meine Straße. Some 15 years ago, I guess. Es muss schon nach der Wende sein, weil da solche neumodschen Stromdinger und - wenn mich nicht alles täuscht - Westautos stehen. Wären die nicht im Bild, würd ich sagen, das Bild is vor 35 Jahren geschossen! Jedenfalls ‘ne Seite, die hübsch anzusehen ist und… heißt es nun Denkmale oder Denkmäler?

This is my street. About 15 years ago, I guess. It must be after 1990, cause there are Western cars parking and modern electricity things in the street. If these wouldn’t be there, I’d say this photo is 35 years old! Nice site, though.

Berlin, Berlin, wir waren nach Berlin

Take it to the streets-Tour mit Matt Redman & Hillsong London am Samstag war sehr sehr schön. Auch sehr beeindruckend: der C-Campus von der Gemeinde auf dem Weg - good to see such a large church facility in Europe.
This was the setlist: They opened up with the most distinctive Hillsong bass line pumping out the system exploding into Tell the world. Next came One way, Jesus and I will dance, I will sing. Then a little introduction of Hillsong London Band and Matt Redman’s Band, who went on with Blessed Be Your Name, Never Let Go, Heart Of Worship, How Great Is Our God. Especially the last two songs - just amazing! They almost left it completely to the 2000 souls in the auditorium to sing it. After that Matt led into an introduction of Compassion with some photo and video presentation. Hillsong’s Pete Wilson continued with a bunch of hits including Mighty To Save, Hosanna, Jesus Is and many more I’ve not been so acquainted with before. Pete Wilson didn’t hold back to use the opportunity to make some straight Jesus talk from off the stage. Very cool and profound. I think this is really a channel, especially Christian musicians have to learn to use in a appropriate, not-cheesy way, because it’s such a huge opportunity to reach people with the message: Jesus saves! Anyone, at anytime, anywhere… Well, the Hillsong-peeps gave a shining example, in my opinion. At the end they again were givin’ it some… with Dancing generation, Take it all, Time has come…However, “Jesus Is” definitely became my new fave-(Hill-)song.

Buxtehude, Bach und Bartholdy

So begab es sich aber zur der Zeit, es war Freitag, der 13. Juni des Jahres 2008 nach Christum, zu später Stunde, da betrat das Antsche-Kind zum ersten Male seit ihres nun fast 3-jährigen Halle-Aufenthaltes die berühmte Markt- oder Marienkirche, um einem der Orgelkonzerte, derer es an diesem Abend viele gab, denn es war Hallesche Orgelnacht, beizuwohnen und genüsslich zu lauschen…
Zwar bin ich nicht unbedingt der Typ Mensch, den man dauerhaft mit Orgelmusik beglücken könnte, doch manchmal verhält es sich mit dieser, wie mit der Bohnensuppe, die man gewöhnlich verschmäht, und doch geschieht es dann und wann, dass man vom Heißhunger gepackt wird und einen längst vergessen geglaubten Geschmacksnerv stimulieren möchte. Und Oh! wie gut das tut!
Musik ist einfach mal eine von Gottes genialsten Erfindungen. Und wenn Menschen schon Werke komponieren können, die einem voll den Schuss verpassen, wie wird das erst im Himmel sein? Whooohooo, I’m rapt away by this thought!
Achso, wie die Orgelnacht nun eigentlich war? Nun, Orgel(n), Gesamtklang, Atmosphäre in der Marktkirche weit besser als in der Ulrichskirche. Organist Martin Stephan in der Ulrichskirche weit besser als Iréné Peyrot in der Marktkirche. Insgesamt war ich positiv überrascht, dass Orgeln doch so schön klingen können vom lieblichen Flöten und Zwitschern, über Leierkastenfeeling, näselnden Ententönen, bis hin zu Bässen, die jeden noch-so-viel-Watt Technosound aus getunedten Golfs in die Ecke stellen. Erstaunlich viel Dynamik, wenig schrille Register und - besonders beim M. Stephan - so viel Schönheit, haben mich ziemlich beeindruckt, aber wahrscheinlich hatte ich bisher einfach zuviel Dorfkirchenorganisten gehört.
