Watch out!

Hi everybody out there! Good to see you again… and yes! I’m back on the scene. It’s been a nice lil blogging break for me. Had a pretty busy March and April. But here we go again into some summer sunny relaxed blogging…

Well, what happened in the meantime?

• I did two practical trainings, with a lot of tests attached to it… one report is still on the to-do-list.
• The ultimative fotocroissant was born on April 8th - The highest expression of extravagant and exuberant humor. An exemplary compilation of extraordinary quotes and verbal slips often as a result of extended telephone calls marked with extreme silliness. WordPress’ Prologue theme came as if on cue for collecting the outputs of such an exhilarating friendship in an adequate way (Goodbye, piles of scraps of paper!)
• Ruth’s beloved blog disappeared from the scene Sad! Very sad!
• Freiburg visited Halle with some serious consequences:
  1.) I was introduced to and immediately got hooked on a Disney movie (oh, oh).
  2.) I was introduced to and instantaneously got hooked to“Crème brulée” . I totally HAVE TO get these bowls to be able to make the crème de la crème!

• Brooke Fraser got me hooked, too.
• My blog stats rose although I’ve not been writing since February. That means, the attractiveness of a blog seems not to lie only in the continual updating but also in the virtually stored information, ideas and stuff.
• What’s happening in Asia right now is gut-wrenching and sheds some kind of light on the above-mentioned points that makes them appear totally irrelevant.
• I KNOW a lot about God and Christianity, but I need to and I want to LIVE it.

Hi everyone!

I decided to take a little blogging break for… I don’t know how long. I feel like not really having time and energy right now to produce anything focused on here. So please don’t mind my drawback. I’ll be back as soon as I know what God wants me to use this outlet for, but I just don’t want to squander time and do kind of a bebopin’ around here. Loved connecting with you all and I believe I’ll keep posting photos and wee little updates on my flickr and flog.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying blogging is a waste of time. The world needs Christian bloggers! I strongly believe we have something to say in this world wide web and there are millions in front of their screens that we can reach at any second. So be encouraged to be an apostolic blogger…

Most Odd Search Engine Terms

Ich frag mich, ob alle WordPress-Blogger soviel Spaß haben, durch ihre Blog Stats Seite zu schmökern? Ich mag die “Search Engine Terms” (=Suchmaschinenbegriffe) Spalte ja so sehr Einerseits ist es ganz schön verwunderlich, was Leute so im Internet suchen, aber viel verwunderlicher ist, dass sie dabei auf meinen Blog stoßen. Egal… herzlich willkommen, jedem, der vorbeischaut! Also hier kommt eine klitzekleine, kommentierte Kollektion dessen, was Leute auf der ganzen Welt in ihr Google tippen.

I wonder if every WordPress-Blogger has so much fun reading through their Blog Stats site? I like the “Search Engine Terms-box” very much On the one hand it’s bizarre what people are searching, but even more bizarre is the fact that their search engine is directing them to my blog. I don’t mind… welcome to everyone stopping by! So here’s a tiny little, commented collection what people around the world are typing in the Google box:

• einfaches lied zum singen (simple song to sing)
  • Ob derjenige hier fand, wonach er suchte? Wie wär’s mit Hänschen klein oder Alle meine Entchen… das brauch man doch nicht googeln! (did they find here what they were looking for? I propose “Twinkle, twinkle little star” … you don’t have to google that, do you?!)
• songs mit zwei akkorden (song with two chords)
  • Noch ein bisschen mehr üben und das Google-Ergebnis für 3 Akkorde wird sicher ein besseres als mein Blog (Practise a little bit more and the Google result for 3 chords will be a better one than my blog;))

Open gas cap, put tap in, close gas cap, pay? or diesel, gas, leaded, unleaded? or WHAT?)

  • Haha, erfolgreich irre geführt! (Haha. Successfully misled!) ->
• hässliche schildkroeten (ugly turtles)
  • lol… Hab Acht! Die könnten von oben kommen! (Beware! they might come from above!) ->

  • Hmm.

  • Jaja, die alte Geschichte, die beste Freundschaft, die skurrilsten Begebenheiten. (The good old story, the best friendship, the funniest occurences.)

  • Wenn ich sowas lese, muss ich einfach lachen. Aber ich bin auch so, mit dem Unterschied, dass ich 2rhyme.ch benutze, wenn ich mir gerade schwachsinnige Postkarten ausdenke zum Beispiel. (I just have to laugh when I read this. But it’s the same with me with the difference, that I use 2rhyme.ch, when I try to think of stupid rhyming postcards for example.)
• poetische funktion werbung (poetic role in advertising)
  • sie verfolgt uns… heimlich aber beständig. (it’s following us… secretly but steadily)
• what does the name Zeitreise mean (was bedeutet der Name “Zeitreise”)
  • Selbst meine Sidebar-Titel sind googlebar. Zeitreise heißt timetravel sagt mein Lieblingswörterbuch (Even my sidebar headers are “googlible” …well, Zeitreise means “timetravel” knows my favorite dictonary.)
• aaaaah I cant (aaah, ich kann nicht)
  • lol… Die einzige halbwegs gescheite Ausrede für diese Suche wäre, wenn’s sich um eine Liedzeile handelt. Frag mich, ob Google auch die Version mit 4 oder 6 A’s anzeigt. Wie flexibel ist eine Suchmaschine? (The only halfway decent excuse for this term would be if it was a line out of a song. I wonder if Google lists the 4-a-version and the 6-a-version as well. How flexible is a search engine?)
• zeit totschinden (to kill time - but mixing up two German ways of saying it)
  • Wer hätte das gedacht - Das ist doch ein verbreiteter Versprecher, was. Oder war das ernst gemeint? (Who would have thought that this slip of the tongue is so common! Or did he/she mean it?)
• Fred Feuerstein im Auto (Fred Flintstone in the car)
  • Ja, ich weiß wie’s sich anfühlt und wie’s geht. (Yes, I know now how it feels and how it works.) ->
• arzt aber heilen gott (medical doctor but healing God)
  • Keine Grammatik… oder vielleicht ein neues Phänomen: Die Google-Grammatik. (No grammar…or maybe a new phenomenon: the google grammar.)
• na na nananana+Drei Engel für Charlie (na na nananana+Charlie’s Angels)
  • nananananana, na nee na Nena nee Nana Mouskouri. Man könnte auch “ddddddddddddd, Bonanza” oder sowas mal suchen… nur ‘n Vorschlag. (Nanananana, na nooo na Nena no Nana Mouskouri. You could also try to search for “ddddddddddddd, Bonanza” or something like that… just an idea.)

Also was sind deine Besten in deines Blogges Dashboards “Search Engine Terms”??? Ich geb zu, ich hab die über ein paar Wochen oder Monate gesammelt.

Renaming procedure complete

Welcome to my new old weblog “feet on the ground & head in the sky”, with updated header and not much more!!!

Finally, finally I chose a new name which does not contain “something”, “life” or “living”, “thinking” or “writing”, “diary” or “blog” like 90% of the weblog’s names out there. Furthermore, it’s taken from a Delirious? song. So, you people have to admit I’m a little bit creative and pretty smart

It’s taken from the song “bliss” from my favorite “mezza” album from my favorite d: band:

And I won’t change my mind on the choices I made…

And the Chorus goes:

which I find quite adequate in this space and time and season and slime.
(And, I-ayayayayyyy, I’m not backing down from blogging, although I’ve been doing so from blogging bilingually in the past months…)

I love “mezzamorphis”. I could quote “see the star” as well:

I could continue like that endlessly. But now some not-superficial but profound thoughts. Today the following thought came to my mind: When we are very fatigued, burned out in our walk with God and gasping for spiritual air, can it be that something very significant is on the move in the Kingdom of God and the enemy wants to keep us away from reaping and being part of that which we sowed and contended for? Man, sometimes I feel like I’ve become so sleepy and focussed on myself, that the goal becomes totally blurred and I need to shake myself up saying “HEY! there are 6.6 billion!” However, God stirred some awareness now… need to pursue that… before I forget it. Need to get out of the slime.

lernen, lernen, lernen

I’ve little time to blog because I live in the pre-exams- as well as in the pre-concert- as well as in the pre-Dad’s-50th-birthday-era. I’ll be back as soon as possible which I hope is in the post-exam-pre-concert-phase. And I’m definitely back at the beginning of the post-exams-post-concert-post-birthday-era also known as relaxed post-everything-era God bless and hope to see you at the Concert. It’s gonna be great. Bring some time (at least 3 hours, I tend to say) and some friends (at least 3… erm, no. More than 3). Yesterday we had a nice rehearsal with two people from a choir from Düsseldorf, which are also going to be part of the program. And for me, after a long time not having done that, I was so much enjoying them doing real choir work… Sopran, Alt, Tenor parts… with us. So cool! It makes songs sound so huge compared to just having one person here and another one there harmonizing some lines. The weirdest thing was doing that without notes, but still it was great fun!! Well, I’m looking forward… :o)

Gospel Music Concert - Gospel Musik Konzert

Ich hab wenig Zeit zu bloggen, weil ich mich sowohl in der Prä-Prüfungs- als auch in der Prä-Konzert- als auch in der Prä-Papas-50ster-Geburtstags-Ära befinde. Ich werd mich so bald wie möglich zurückmelden, was hoffentlich in der Nach-Prüfungs-Prä-Konzert-Phase sein wird. Und ich werde definitiv zu Beginn der Nach-Prüfungs-Nach-Konzert-Nach-Geburtstags-Ära, auch bekannt als entspannte Nach-Alles-Ära, wieder da sein Gottes Segen und hoffe euch zum Konzi zu treffen. Es wird klasse. Bringt etwas Zeit mit (mindestens 3 Stunden, neige ich zu raten) und ein paar Freunde (mindestens 3… ähn, nee. Mehr als 3). Gestern hatten wir eine schöne Probe mit zwei Leuten von einem Chor aus Düsseldorf, der bei dem Programm dabei sein wird. Und für mich, nachdem ich das lange nicht gemacht habe, war das so cool, dass die mit uns richtige Chorarbeit …Sopran, Alt, Tenorstimmen… gemacht haben. Das macht die Lieder viel riesiger, als wenn nur einer hier, der andere dort für ein paar Zeilen ‘ne andere Stimme singt. Das verrückteste allerdings war, die ganze Sache ohne Noten durchzuziehen, aber dennoch spaßig!! Also, ich freu mich schon… :o)

Redesign

Nachdem Andy Warhol in meinen Header eingezogen ist (und zwar so), was mir schon viel besser gefällt, und überhaupt meine Layout-Erneuerungs-Wünsche Umsetzung erfahren haben, denke ich nun über einen neuen Titel nach, da “Something like… (diary of thoughts, collection of questions, anthology of quotations mixed with some pics, news and the most awesome message ever: GOD REALLY LOVES HUMANS.)” mir nun doch mittlerweile aufgrund der ausgesprochenen Einseitigkeit und, verglichen mit den Blogs dieser Welt, Einfallslosigkeit zum Hals raushängt. Kurzum: Einsicht ist der erste Weg zur Besserung. Letztere steht nun allerdings noch aus… Ich denke, nach einem Jahr sind ein paar Veränderungen durchaus angebracht. Auch inhaltlich schwebt mir da Einiges vor.

After the Andy-Warhol-Takeover in my header (see how), which I find pretty cool, and the realisation of my layout-renewal-desires have taken place, I’m thinking about a new title right now. I’ve become tired of “Something like… (diary of thoughts, collection of questions, anthology of quotations mixed with some pics, news and the most awesome message ever: GOD REALLY LOVES HUMANS.)” because of its dullness. I’m looking for something unique that stands out against the grey and heavy mass of blogs like an Andy-Warhol-header against a black and white WordPress theme In short: A fault confessed is half redressed. (I love this dictionary: it helps me out with the boldest German utterances one can make as a German without thinking about the fact of entertaining a bilingual blog) Anyways, old-title-redressing is on the way… I think, after one year some changes are well appropriate. Contentswise I’ve some ideas floating around as well.

silent season

Blogging is OUT this summer. Leaving a blog alone for days or even weeks is IN this summer. Yeah, I’m infected by the “IDFLB”-syndrome (I Don’t Feel Like Blogging-Syndrome), too. It’s not serious, but it’s spread through my blogroll as well… Should I consult a doctor? Hmm, I’m reminded of Dr. med. Ion… an invention of my unique-play-on-words-friend Sandra. She actually introduced me to blogging in summer 2005. I started a blog at that time but after five posts and a grave silent season I deleted it… [two minutes later] I just checked out if her blog still exists, and it seems as if she is about to end her one and a half year silent season. Yeah! I think, I gotta make her a handcrafted letter like I did for Antschi2 these days…

 

Back to Dr. med. Ion. Well, “MEDION” is actually a Label for Multimedia stuff of a German discount supermarket chain called Aldi and Dr. med. is the German abbreviation for “Doctor of medicine”- now, I believe, you can catch her amazing play on words. My laptop on the top of my lap is a Dr. med. Ion.

 

Anyways, video-blogging seems to be IN this summer. I find my blog layout and title OUT this summer and I’m thinking about a new one right now. I’m going on holiday to Norway next week… visiting my parents and little sister on their holidays - AAAAAH! Can’t believe it. But I’ll stand one week, it’s just for chilling out a bit before I really really finally start cramming for exams.

Mein Blog hat übrigens morgen Geburtstag. Aaah, nein, mein Blog hat heute schon Geburtstag!

By the way, it’s my blog’s birthday tomorrow. Aaah, no, it’s today actually!
